Restaurant Review: Verducci's Pizzeria Trattoria

Verducci's Pizzeria Trattoria is an Italian restaurant located in St. Pete Beach on the southeast corner of Blind Pass and 78th Ave. Impressively, it has earned 4.3 out of 5 stars rated by 72 Google reviewers.

But let's take a closer look!

….Ambiance

Upon entering Verducci's on a Thursday night at around 6ish, I was greeted by a cramped, mutely-lit Italian restaurant. The hostess escorted me to a tiny two-person table fit squarely against a wall and an archway dividing the restaurant in half.

Admittedly, I couldn't find the door right away.
But here's a little word to the wise:
press down firmly on that iron clad door handle
and soon enough you'll hear a click.

IMO it looked like the table was placed there more as an afterthought. Plus, while I was glancing around at the other tables, I realized it was the only two-person table inside the entire restaurant. So, if you are coming to this place with just one other person expect to be seated where I was and in full-view of the waitstaff nearly crashing into each other as they go through the archway.

The restaurant itself was fairly crowded but not in an obnoxious, can't have a conversation kind of way. It was about as filled as how a movie director might have wanted it—just right. Gazing around at the restaurant, I could tell it was more a formal family get-together type deal rather than a place I'd bring someone on a first date—at least when I was there at 6pm.

….Service
My waiter wore a personality that made him seem like I've known him for years and had a jovial cadence to his speech as he listed off the day's specials. He seemed to be conscientious enough to not ask me "How is everything?" after just shoving a truck-load of food into my mouth.

My food arrived at about 15 minutes after placing my order which to me is the perfect amount of waiting time. But if you're ravenously hungry or the person you're dining with is kind of annoying, then this wait time could be tortuous.

….Food

This is the 12" Pizza Chicken Fiorentina I ordered. If you can't tell from the pic: it had cheese, breaded chicken, and tomatoes. It wasn't badly priced at $14 especially since the leftovers lasted me all weekend.

….Put Bluntly
I would definitely eat there again—in a family setting, of course! It resembles Carrabba's in terms of pricing, but it's still a place that serves quality pizza several notches above an Olive Garden.
